  • MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY.
(so, i read this on Berto's xanga and just had to repost it on mine. I think he explained it way better than I could.)
*sorry for copying, berto. but you took the thoughts right out of my brain and worded them just right. :)
    _________________________________________________
Thanks for writing your thoughts. I appreciate hearing what you think.
    My thoughts, if that matters:

    1. PLAN B.
Politics as we know and trust in are MAN's plan B to God's original plan. Remember Israel clamoring for a King like the other nations and God warned them? He said he would enslave them, work them, and send them off to wars.
As I read the Hebrew Scriptures I see God wanted something DIFFERENT than the other nations of the world.

This peculiar people of God would follow his laws which called for debt cancellations, returning of lands to original owners and making room for the poor. Much of it is The Jubilee.

The CRAZY thing is that there is no indication that God's plan ever changed. We see this most in Jesus. His opening scripture "[He] has anointed me to preach good news to the poor...to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord"
is talking about Jubilee. Jesus came to establish this society WITHIN the roman empire - not to convert the existing political system or overthrowing it by military force. This is what he preached, and it's called The Kingdom of God.

    2. MY VOTE?
As far as I vote - I choose based on those things that most align themselves with God's design I read about in the Bible. I don't put my hope in the Government to make it happen - I believe the new community is The Church. THAT is what we must reform, not Washington. After all, Jesus cleaned his Father's house, not Pilate's. Between these 2 candidates I see Sen Obama as more in line with these beliefs and I see him more in touch with where most Americans are at and more able to be an agent of peace.

    3. READINESS OF CANDIDATES [and their counter parts]
I'm not voting for McCain because I think he is qualified to be a military leader but not the general leader of this country. Even less, I don't think Palin is ready to be the next leader of the US should something happen to McCain and at 71 and bouts with cancer there's a fair chance she could be President Palin. Also,Joe Biden is pretty cool.

**Just a note on Obama and abortion.

One thing I had a tough time with about Obama was that I heard he voted for partial birth abortions and supported abortions in general. I had a tough time with that because

I was glad to hear his views from himself during the last presidential debate. McCain's words echoed what I had heard from many people. I think its always good to try to hear news from the source itself. I like how Obama treats the subject and his attitude towards pregnancy and sex:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_CxQzm42hE

  • I have arrived.

    Isn't she a beauty?

Last night was the best night ever. Jose said, "get ready cause I have a small surprise for you on tonight's date." and I'm like, oh that's cute. probably something small and thoughtful. We finished dinner, and he said, ok let's get your little gift i got you in the car. He starts driving and before I know it, he's pulling into Best Buy! I looked at him and said, "There's no way!!!" He's like, "yes way."
We park, he opens my door, and I start crying!!! what a nerd! But you can tell, that's how badly I dreamed of having my new mac.  So he walks me in and bought this lovely piece of equipment!!

I'm so happy. Still on cloud 9.
I think I should name her. Don't you think?

(and check out my new mouse pad with my business logo. I feel official now. :)
